Things to Do in Santa Barbara, Pangasinan

Santa Barbara, Pangasinan is a landlocked municipality of Pangasinan, which is more of an agricultural town than an industrial one. Santa Barbara doesn't have a developed tourist destination, but the place is perfect for backpacking adventure and experiencing countryside life. The town is surrounded by 3 cities: Dagupan City, Urdaneta City, and San Carlos City. The old municipal hall is shown below. Although the main offices have moved to the new building in Brgy. Maningding, the building is still operational with few offices using it.

Typical of a Spanish-influenced "Poblacion", the church is just across the street. The Parish of the Holy Family serves the religious needs of the locals.

Although the church has undergone renovations, it still has the original structures like brick walls and stone floors.

And because Santa Barbara is an agricultural municipality, nothing but the freshest crops are being sold at the Santa Barbara Public Market.

Quite ready for an adventure? Take a bus from Cubao or Pasay headed for Dagupan. Travel time is usually around 4 hours. In Dagupan, you may ride a jeepney going to Santa Barbara. It would take you around 45 minutes. Because the climate is warm, short sleeves and short pants are recommended.
